I am Dr. Hugh Blackley Orthopaedic Surgeon, BSc, MBChB, FRACS Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising Surgical Management of Arthritis, Joint Reconstruction and Joint Replacement Surgery.

I am a New Zealand trained surgeon with overseas subspecialty training in lower limb surgery. I have postgraduate training in hip and knee replacement surgery in particular complex joint replacement and revision (repeat) joint replacement surgery. I was involved in the first use of computer assisted surgery (CAOS) in New Zealand and minimally invasive surgery (MIS) joint replacement surgery and carried out the first hip resurfacing in New Zealand.

I have been an orthopaedic specialist at Auckland City Hospital since 1999 where I am also involved in Clinical Research and Fellowship Training. I have been in private practice since 1999 and operate at Southern Cross Hospital North Harbour and Mercy Ascot Hospital.
